In May of 2022, our team had the pleasure of attending the 40th Annual Child Life Conference in Washington D.C.. It was an incredible experience and we met so many amazing people from all over and made so many meaningful connections. We had the pleasure of meeting two very special Child Life Specialists from Providence Children’s Hospital in El Paso, Peggy and Ana. They were very excited about the possibility of bringing Once Upon a Room to Providence Children’s, and we were excited to launch! They helped us expand our program to also serve El Paso Children’s Hospital. A heartfelt thank you to all of our donors. We could not make nearly the impact we do without you!
OUR SPECIAL PROJECTS
Inaugural Decorating Days
We were asked by Wolfson’s Child Life Team to provide 132 Easter Baskets to be distributed throughout the hospital to every patient on Easter Sunday. The baskets were customized by age and included comfort items, room decor and activities. We provided 20 infant, 40 preschool age, 40 school age, 20 teen and 12 mental health baskets. We also made extra baskets for the emergency room totaling 150 baskets! This was a huge undertaking and very successful in bringing joy to EVERY patient hospitalized on Easter Sunday.
